What’s www.liamgoldstein.com all about?
I’ve spent many hours over the last few years developing and re-developing my blog, switching from one technology to another… In fact at some point I think I must of tried them all - Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Blogger and even plain old static content.
I would get an idea and start eagerly developing my new site, only to find that when I’d finished I no longer had any desire to blog… Books, DVDs, movies, walking, work, technology, music, photos, portfolios, I’ve had them all…
What’s Changed?
I’ve finally realised that trying to have a blog that’s specific to one topic only leads to failure and in fact, like life, I’m also multifaceted. No single element of my life dominates over another… Combine the above with the fact that I never have time to wax lyrical about any of these facets then micro-blogging seemed like the perfect solution, lots of little snippets, on the go, from my life.
So here we are, another incarnation of my blog that hopefully, this time, will work - enjoy!
Me, Me, Me…
My name is Liam Goldstein and I’m currently working and living in Cardiff, UK.
I’ve been working at Cardiff University as a Web Developer since 2005 after my graduation from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (as it was then) with a MEng (hons) in Software Engineering.
I have a passion for web technologies, content & design and spend most of my time immersed in the web. My background is predominantly Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, php, Websphere Portal, Websphere Content Management but like any good techie and developer I can turn my hand to most things and I learn quickly!
